Blackfriars Road

A new 23-storey hotel with 307 rooms, operated by Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity –  the upscale lifestyle brand of Staycity Group. Situated directly opposite Southwark Underground Station and within walking distance of Waterloo Station, the hotel offers exceptional transport connectivity across London, ensuring easy access for visitors, commuters, and locals.

The development features activated ground and mezzanine levels, accessible to the public, with co-working spaces, a café, a restaurant, and a bar. Street-level improvements along Blackfriars Road, such as seating and soft landscaping, will enhance the streetscape and create a more inviting environment for residents and visitors.

This marks the second project collaboration between Staycity Group and Citygrove, with Citygrove managing planning and construction. EPR Architects has also joined the team, their second partnership with both entities.

The project is expected to be completed in 2030.

Wyvil Court

Wyvil Court was a redundant 2,200 sq m office building located close to Vauxhall Station, offering excellent connectivity across London and presenting a strong opportunity to bring an underutilised site back into active and sustainable use.

Citygrove secured full planning consent from Lambeth Council in November 2025 for the redevelopment of the site into a 185-bedroom hotel.

Located at 10 Wyvil Road, the development will introduce Staycity’s boutique lifestyle brand, Wilde, to the wider Vauxhall / Nine Elms area. The scheme will feature a design led front of house offering, including a publicly accessible reception, bar, co-working space, café, pantry and artisan shop, creating a vibrant destination for both visitors and the local community.

Sustainability is a core focus of the development, with key features including on-site solar PV, air source heat pumps and green roofing, supporting the project’s wider environmental ambitions and aligning with the wider regeneration objectives of the area.

Lambeth Mission

The development includes a new 137-bed hotel pre-let to Premier Inn, a new church for the Lambeth Mission and 2 residential apartments for the church. Replacing a 1950s church complex, the new church will open 7 days a week, serving as a worship space, cafe, community centre and meeting place for local charities and youth groups. The hotel extends to 11 storys and the church features a contemporary facade containing multiple brick arches. The project was completed in the winter of 2024 and we met BREEAM ‘excellent’ sustainable certification.

Hannover

Completed in January 2026, this 220-room hotel occupies a nine-storey building in the heart of Hannover, directly opposite the central station. The property has been leased to Premier Inn on a 25-year term, securing a long-term income stream from one of Europe’s most recognised hospitality brands.

The project involved transforming a vacant office building acquired in 2019, breathing new life into an underutilised asset in a prime city-centre location. The scheme achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification, setting a high benchmark for sustainable hospitality development.

Düsseldorf

We’ve developed a new 438-room hotel next to Düsseldorf’s central station, operated on a 25-year lease contract by Hamburg based Novum Hospitality. Branded ‘The Niu’, the hotel covers 236,806 sq ft over 13 floors and features a large terrace overlooking the city’s Burgerpark, a co-working space and over 100 parking places. The building, constructed in natural stone, has been awarded a BREEAM ‘very good’ rating. The Niu has been welcoming guests since July 2021.

Lübeck

In the autumn of 2024, we successfully wrapped up our hospitality project: a 203-room hotel in Lübeck, the second-largest city on the German Baltic coast.

Citygrove purchased the site, which had previously been a surface-level car park adjacent to the city’s central station, back in 2010. After securing the necessary building permits, we successfully pre-let the hotel to Premier Inn on a 25-year lease.

Lübeck, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands out as one of Northern Germany’s most well-preserved ancient towns, and the hotel is quickly becoming a favourite among leisure and business travellers.

The professional team that brought this project to life included HTG Hoch und Tiefbau Gadebusch GmbH and Cumming Group. Additionally, the development earned a BREEAM excellent accreditation for its impressive sustainability features.

Travelodge

Citygrove developed this 250 beds hotel, located in the 22@ district of Barcelona, leased for 25 years to the hotel operator Travelodge, which was inaugurated in February 2013 and sold to Standard Life.

Southwater Square

We were selected by Telford & Wrekin Council as development partner for the leisure element of the £250 million regeneration of Southwater Square in Telford. Construction began in 2012 and was completed in July 2014. The 100,000 sq ft scheme includes restaurant brands Harvester, Chimichanga, Pizza Express, Zizzi, Bella Italia, Nando’s and Wagamama, together with an 11-screen Cineworld Cinema and an 85 room Premier Inn. The scheme is owned by M&G Property.

Royal Business Park

We negotiated planning consent for this 131-bed hotel and pre-let it to Travelodge. The hotel was completion in time for the 2012 London Olympic Games, in line with the local council’s regeneration targets for the Olympics. With a £20 millionvalue on completion and annual rental income of £650,000, the hotel is owned by Associated British Foods Pension Trustees Limited.

Westgate

In a joint venture between Citygrove and Rushmoor Borough Council, the Westgate scheme opened in October 2012.
