Sustainability.

Cutting carbon.
Adding value.

Our buildings are not simply smart and beautifully designed. Crucially, they’re on the cutting edge of sustainability. With environmental benefits come proven financial benefits to all stakeholders, as sustainability adds value to real estate assets.

Our obsession with sustainability is recognised beyond our close-knit partners. An office building in the City of London has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by BREEAM and a new residential development is set to rank among the UK’s most sustainable buildings, targeting WELL for Residential and LEED Neighbourhood Platinum.

We tread carefully to reduce our carbon footprint. Driven by our commitment to ‘do the right thing’, sustainability is at the core of all our actions. Built in, not bolted on. And it’s not about ticking boxes…it’s about thinking outside the boxes to find innovative ways to cut our carbon emissions. Working closely with our partners and supply chain, including specialist consultants, local authorities, landowners, financial institutions, constructors and occupiers, we devise and implement as many carbon-cutting measures as possible.

To reduce embodied carbon we work closely with the project team to optimise the design and to make sure our construction supply chain use low carbon materials from sustainable sources. We also aim to lower operational carbon emission by opting for a combination of passive design and excellent engineering solutions. We always ensure future-proofing is planned for a net zero carbon operation.

Importantly, we’re also passionate about wellbeing and we advocate the integration of wellbeing strategies into our projects. Whether it’s biophilic design, enhanced ventilation or circadian lighting, we work with the team to find, encourage and integrate suitable strategies into our projects for the occupant well-being.

We know from experience that environmental, social and governance improvements are key drivers of value. Importantly, we also know that close collaboration between all stakeholders – a longstanding theme at Citygrove – is the best way to hasten these improvements.
