Bridges and Citygrove agree £85m deal for Nine Elms hotel project

Citygrove and Bridges Fund Management have acquired a consented hotel site in Nine Elms from Staycity Group.

Staycity has agreed a leaseback for its premium Wilde aparthotel brand, and plans are underway for a 185-room hotel in Vauxhall. Located near the US Embassy and transport hubs, the hotel aims to meet demand from tourists and business travellers, in line with London’s status as a leading global city.

It is the first deal for the new Bridges–Citygrove partnership, which focuses on sustainable real estate in prime urban areas. Citygrove will develop the scheme over the next two years.

Blackfriars Road acquisition agreed

Staycity Group, in partnership with Citygrove, is pleased to announce the acquisition of 202–208 Blackfriars Road, Southwark, which will become a flagship development in central London.

The project features a 25-storey Wilde Aparthotel with 350 modern studios and one-bedroom apartments, all with fully equipped kitchens. Guests can enjoy amenities like a 24-hour reception, lounge, bar, café, gym, and more, catering to both business and leisure travellers.

Citygrove will oversee the planning and construction programme, with completion expected in 2030. Wilde Southwark will strengthen Staycity’s presence in this vibrant part of the capital.

Demolition completed at 10 Wyvil Road, Vauxhall

The demolition of the building at 10 Wyvil Road is complete, marking an important step in redeveloping the site.

Greater London Demolition began the demolition in June 2025 and successfully completed this week. Careful planning, including timing the demolition during the summer holidays to avoid disrupting the nearby school, was highly appreciated by local officials.

Ben Robinson, Construction Director at Citygrove, stated, “The safe and well-executed demolition allows us to proceed with a project that will benefit the local community.”

The demolition followed strict safety and environmental standards, and the team sorted materials for recycling to minimise waste. Construction of the 185-bed hotel is set to begin in summer 2026, and we expect it to be completed by early 2028.

A green light for Wyvil Court!

Staycity and Citygrove have secured planning permission for a 185-room Wilde Aparthotel at Wyvil Court in the heart of Vauxhall. This exciting development will include a 185-room premium Wilde Aparthotel, a co-working café and pantry shop, perfect for locals and visitors alike.

The decision signifies a significant milestone for both companies and reflects a substantial investment in Lambeth’s hospitality and tourism sector.

Designed by EPR Architects, the hotel will blend modern design with neighbourhood charm and create around 140 jobs for the community.

Tom Fuller, Development Director of Citygrove, shared his enthusiasm: “We’re delighted to have resolution to grant at Wyvil Court. Our design respects the surroundings while embracing sustainability, contributing to the revitalisation of Vauxhall and Nine Elms.”

Construction is set to begin in summer 2026, with the hotel opening in early 2028, bringing fresh energy to the area.

Planning Approval for £85m West Drayton Regeneration Project

We are excited to announce that Citygrove has received unanimous planning consent from the London Borough of Hillingdon for our £85 million redevelopment of the former Morrisons Foodstore in West Drayton. This mixed-use scheme will include 158 new homes, with 10% designated as affordable housing, along with a ground-floor food store.

Located on Yiewsley High Street near the Grand Union Canal, residents will enjoy just a three-minute walk to West Drayton Crossrail station, offering quick access to Central London in under 20 minutes.

Citygrove has also acquired Morrisons’ interest in the site, allowing us to proceed independently. This regeneration project aims to address the housing needs in London and invigorate the High Street, attracting new residents and businesses.

With planning consent secured, we are actively exploring options to advance this initiative and look forward to its positive impact on West Drayton.

Planning is in for a Wilde Aparthotel in Vauxhall

Staycity and Citygrove have submitted a detailed planning application to Lambeth Council for the development of a new 185-room premium Wilde Hotel at 10 Wyvil Road in Vauxhall.

The upcoming development will feature a co-working café and grocery, designed with architectural elements that blend with the surrounding environment and prioritise sustainability.

The project is expected to create 100 construction jobs and 40 permanent positions.

If approved, construction is anticipated to start in the summer of 2026, with the hotel expected to open in early 2028.
